- Energy-efficient system installs
Why it Matters
East Baton Rouge has 450,000+ residents; approximately 20% live in poverty. Summer highs reach 91°F+, with heat indexes over 105°F. Vulnerable residents are at risk without a working air conditioner/heating unit.

- 10,000+ applications processed
- 7,742+ households received bill support
Eligibility and How to Apply
Applicants must be a resident of East Baton Rouge Parish and be at 60% of the State Median income.
Apply by:
- Walk into the main office at 4523 Plank Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70805, or one of six community centers (Newman, Butler, Kelly, MLK, Cheneyville Center, Zachary Men’s Club)

Federally funded program to help low-income households with home energy costs. Locally operated by the Office of Social Services, funded through LHC.
Two types of assistance:
- Regular – Helps with electric/gas bills
- Crisis – For emergencies, including broken HVAC systems
